Down to Earth

My work is focused on the Earth when it is viewed from above. I have strived to interpret the colours, shapes & contours of coastlines, road networks, agricultural land and urban development.

Through research and observation, I because very interested in the process of change through time and how the shadows of previously undiscovered archaeology becomes visible.

The layering of the natural earth, altered by man or natural phenomenon, covering and uncovering, building and demolishing, has promoted me to use different methods of stitching and textile techniques, which represent the layers and contours of the earth which are fragmented, hidden, discovered and rebuilt.
